Circular hiking trails
The most beautiful circular tours in the Ahr valley
In the Ahr Valley you will find fascinating landscapes that are best explored on foot. Rugged vineyards, gentle meadows, wooded hills and bizarre rock formations alternate in a small area, creating a fascinating natural ensemble. The Ahr heights and side valleys of the Ahr Valley are uniquely unspoilt. The hiking trails are mostly connected to the AhrSteig or Rotweinwanderweg, offer magnificent views and lead through cosy forests and across wide plateaus. Slow down and feel in harmony with nature.

Circular tours around Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler
Varied circular tours show hikers how diverse the landscape around Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler is. The routes of between four and 13 kilometres run through the vineyards, through shady forests, across magnificent viewpoints and wide open fields. Highlights: Steinthalskopf, Streckenberg tower, the pavilion on the Katzley, the Bunte Kuh, the Neuenahrer Berg, the Landskrone and the Dokumentationsstätte Regierungsbunker.

Grape trails
Five grape trails lead on easy circular tours through the vineyards of Ehlingen, Heppingen, Bad Neuenahr, Ahrweiler and Walporzheim. The circular trails are between four and eight kilometres long, making them ideal for families with children. All five routes offer wonderful views of the Ahr valley.

Hiking paradise Sahrbachtal
Kreuzberg Castle points the way to the Sahrbach Valley. With around 80 kilometres of trails, the small side valley of the Ahr is an insider tip for hikers and nature explorers. The 8.5-kilometre Sahrbachweg trail winds its way through this gem of a landscape to Kirchsahr. The Milky Way Trail and the Galaxy Trail, which takes you to one of the largest mobile radio telescopes on earth near Effelsberg, are truly heavenly paths. Information boards accompany the "path to the stars".

Barbarossa loops
Hikers can discover the beauty of the landscape around the Barbarossa town of Sinzig on two circular routes. A loop marked in green and a loop marked in blue connect the districts of Sinzig with their different characters over a length of 15 and 18 kilometres respectively. The start and finish is at Sinzig Castle. From here, the hiking trails lead across open fields, through idyllic town centres and shady forests.

Family adventure trail
"With Lotta through the vineyard"
Children and adults explore the vineyards above Ahrweiler with the vineyard snail Lotta. On a section of the educational winegrowing trail along the Rotweinwanderweg, information boards explain the work of the winegrowers and which animals and plants thrive in the vineyard in a fun way. An information flyer including a rally for children is available for the tour along the adventure trail.
