The hike starts in the picturesque Wingsbachtal and leads through the forest, through the Hungertal, and over the ridge of Schnälzhardt back towards the Ahr.

The picturesque Wingsbachtal with the small babbling brook forms the calm and relaxed beginning of this hike. Then it goes uphill through the forest, through the Hungertal, and over the ridge of Schnälzhardt back towards the Ahr valley. Along the way, two tree giants draw attention, and the crowning conclusion of the route is a fantastic view of the Ahr valley and Ahrweiler.

On timetable route 470 (Rhine Valley route) from the north or south to Remagen. Then transfer to the "Ahrtalbahn". The train stops at the following locations in the urban area: Heimersheim, Bad Neuenahr, Ahrweiler station, Ahrweiler market, Walporzheim.

Free hiking car park on site.
