The 6th stage is designed as a gourmet stage. Red wine connoisseurs will get their money's worth. From the romantic wine village of Walporzheim, the route leads along the medieval town of Ahrweiler to the spa town of Bad Neuenahr.
Before the actual stage start, a visit to the historic old town of Ahrweiler, as well as the Roemervilla Museum and the Government Bunker documentation site, is worthwhile. Starting at the entrance to the Heckenbach Valley, the route begins through shaded riparian forests past the Calvarienberg Monastery, through the vineyards to the Lourdes Chapel. Past the Karlsberg viewpoint, one walks through the Neuenahr forest to the forest climbing park. Over the 3 km marked access path, it then goes steeply downhill to Bad Neuenahr. Spacious parks and magnificent town villas come into view.
