Tour
Ahr Loop “RheinAhrSicht”
Ahr
and Rhine valleys. The route begins right on the Ahr River in Sinzig. It follows the Schwanenteich pond to Bad Bodendorf. An initial climb up the Mühlenberg offers breathtaking views of the Ahr Valley before the route passes through the “rose village” of Löhndorf.
The trail descends through open fields into the Westum district. From there, the path climbs again into the forest up the Mühlenberg, where a detour to the Feltenturm offers a view of large parts of the AhrSchleife.
Thanks to its blend of nature, culture, and relaxation, the “RheinAhrSicht” Ahr Loop is ideal for a day hike.
The hike continues through the spa district, past St. Josef Sprudel and the outdoor thermal pool, before the first ascent up the Mühlenberg begins. Following the trail markers, the route then leads through the forest toward “Generationenwald 2.0.” At the large wooden AhrSteig picture frame, the trail leads right downhill toward Löhndorf.
Via Nordstraße and Kreuzstraße, the route finally leads out of Löhndorf and up to the Sinzig-Kopf. Passing the Gerhardshof, the trail leads down between fields and forests to Westum. From there, the route climbs once again up to the Mühlenberg and continues on to the forest tavern “Zum Ännchen.” Passing a forest playground, you’ll eventually take a short detour to the 11-meter-high Feltenturm, which offers an impressive 360-degree panoramic view.
The return trip leads downhill through Sinzig. If you’re still hungry after visiting the cozy places to stop for a bite along this Ahr loop, you can take a short detour to downtown Sinzig, where the local restaurants offer something for every taste.
The route finally ends back at the Ahr Bridge on Kölner Straße.
