Forest bathing in Königsfeld

Recharge your batteries in the woods above Bad Neuenahr

No swimming costume is needed for this bathing experience: Forest bathing doesn't involve stepping into cool water, but rather immersing yourself with all your senses in the forest as a place of power and learning interesting facts about the effects of the forest on human health. Forest bathing is this and much more - a nature conservation and health concept from Japan! It has been practised there for over 40 years as "Shinrin Yoku".

Nature therapist and forest bathing instructor Gabriele Arzdorf will guide you in a small group through the calming yet fascinating greenery of the forest, allowing you to experience the decelerating effect of nature to the full - be it through the song of the birds, the scent of the forest floor or the soft feeling of moss under your feet. The forest opens up new perspectives, provides peace and quiet and invites you to escape from everyday life for a few hours and immerse yourself in a pristine, tranquil world.

Duration: approx. 3 hours (incl. forest picnic, yoga, breathing and meditation exercises)

Price: 32 euros (reduced rate 30 euros)

Meeting point: Königsfeld, at the junction "Im Strohdell / Lavastrom / Alte Königsfelder Straße"

What exactly is forest bathing in Bad Neuenahr?

"Forest bathing (Shinrin Yoku) is the art of connecting with nature through all our senses."
(Prof Dr Qing Li, one of the world's leading Japanese researchers in the field of forest medicine)

Experience nature - slow down - feel happy - detox.
Forest bathing can re-energise your body and mind. Everyone knows it - you feel better after a long walk in the forest. But why is that? Shinrin Yoku, or bathing in the forest air, has been a recognised form of therapy in Japan since the 1980s. A prolonged, conscious stay in the forest acts as a kind of aromatherapy, with the trees releasing their essential oils into the air. The particularly oxygen-rich forest air is particularly good for headaches. The lush green of the leaves creates inner peace and harmony. It has been proven that consciously spending time in the forest can strengthen the immune system, lower blood pressure and reduce stress.
