High above Mayschoß towers the oldest castle complex in the Ahr Valley: the ruin of the Saffenburg.

On the hike around the Saffenburg, the Ahr Valley shows its most beautiful sides. The views on the ascent to the castle and from the Red Wine Hiking Trail of the valley are spectacular.

Service with a magnificent view: Guests and hikers have the opportunity to be served at one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Ahr Valley and enjoy the unique view into the terrace vineyards of Mayschoß.

On all public holidays and all weekends (Sat./Sun.) in May, September, and October, the shelter hut below the Saffenburg is served.
