AhrSteig Stage 7: Bad Neuenahr Mitte to Sinzig (16 km)

Once again, the path shows itself from its most beautiful side. The gentle foothills of the Ahr mountains and beautiful views into the Rhine plain compensate us for the somewhat strenuous sections.

On the 16 km long final stage of the AhrSteig, it's all about enjoyable hiking again. Once more, the path reveals its most beautiful side. The gentle foothills of the Ahr mountains and beautiful views into the Rhine plain inspire. The inviting Barbarossa city of Sinzig awaits at the destination.

Along the 2.7 km marked side path, you hike from Bad Neuenahr over the forest climbing park via a steep ascent to the Neuenahrer Berg – with views of the Ahr valley and the Landskrone. Over softly springy forest paths you reach the Idienbach valley. Field paths lead towards Heimersheim. You pass the village of Ehlingen and reach the Ehlinger Ley via vineyards. Further on past the ridge of the Mühlenberg to the Feltenturm. One last time it goes steeply downhill to the stage destination Castle Sinzig near the late Romanesque Basilica St. Peter with church square.

Via the marked side path you reach the protected area of the Ahr estuary. 

 

On the 15.4 km long final stage of the AhrSteigs again enjoy hiking is announced. Once again the trail shows its best side. The gentle foothills of the Ahrgebirge and beautiful views of the Rhine valley inspire. The inviting Barbarossa town of Sinzig awaits you at your destination. Via the 2.7 km marked access route you can hike from Bad Neuenahr via the Waldkletterpark via a steep ascent to Neuenahrer Berg - with a view of the Ahr valley and the Landskrone. You can reach the Idienbachtal via soft, springy forest paths. Dirt roads lead towards Heimersheim. You pass the village Ehlingen and reach via wine paths up to the Ehlinger Ley. Continue on the ridge of Mühlenberg over to the Feltenturm. For the last time, it goes steeply downhill to the stage destination Schloss Sinzig near the late Romanesque St. Peter's Basilica with church square. The marked access road leads to the nature reserve of the Ahrmündung.
