Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler Guest Card

With the Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler guest card, you receive numerous discounts and many shopping benefits. It doesn't matter whether you prefer to enjoy your holiday in a sporty and active or quiet and leisurely way: With the Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler guest card, you are guaranteed to find just the right thing at a discounted price!
You can obtain the guest card from all hosts in the Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler town area from one overnight stay. The guest contribution is charged by the host and is generally not included in the price of the overnight stay. Adults currently pay 2 euros per person per night. Children up to and including the age of 5 are exempt from the fee. From the age of 6 up to and including the age of 17, the fee is 0.80 euros per child per night. Hospital guests of the rehabilitation clinics in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler receive the guest card free of charge on arrival.
Note: From 1 January 2026, the guest contribution in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler will increase to 2.50 euros for adults and 1 euro for children aged 6 and over.

When is the guest card valid?
The guest card is valid for the duration of your stay - including on the day of arrival and departure. Only the dates entered by your host are valid.
Is the guest card transferable?
Your personalised guest card is not transferable. Only you personally may use the benefits of the card during your stay.
Is it possible to buy the guest card?
No, you cannot buy the guest card. It is a heartfelt invitation to experience the diversity of the Ahr Valley.
Is there anything else to bear in mind?
Please always carry the guest card with you during your stay - as well as a valid photo ID.
Please note that the guest card can be used once during your stay with individual partners.
What conditions of use apply to VRM bus & train services?
The VRM guest ticket is only valid on public transport operated by the Rhine-Moselle Transport Association (VRM) in 2nd class trains and not on IC or ICE trains.
The VRM guest ticket is only valid when fully completed. Bicycles can be carried free of charge from 9 a.m. on weekdays and all day on Sundays and public holidays.
Are certain groups exempt from paying the guest contribution?
§ Section 4 of the guest contribution statutes states that severely disabled persons with a degree of disability of 100 and persons accompanying severely disabled persons with a degree of disability of 100 are exempt from paying the contribution if the need to be accompanied is proven by an official medical certificate, severely disabled person's pass or pension certificate.
However, this also means that the benefits of the guest card are not granted to this person. If the person is interested in the guest card, they can of course pay the guest contribution voluntarily at the accommodation establishment and then receive the guest card including all services.
