The 20th Ahrtaler Gipfelfest on Corpus Christi weekend (4 to 7 June 2026) guarantees hiking fun for young and old. Varied tours to selected day destinations allow you to experience the wild and romantic Ahr Valley in all its diversity. Discover the four daily destinations via wonderful hikes with marvellous views and impressions. The Gipfelfest routes take you along the most beautiful hiking trails through forests and vineyards, on heights and hilltops, along streams and rivers to each day's destination. Hiking fans of all ages can look forward to great hands-on activities, regional delicacies and a colourful family programme.

This is how the Ahrtaler Gipfelfest works:
Every year, four different daily destinations are selected for the Ahrtaler Gipfelfest. A short and a long hiking route leads to each destination, along the most beautiful hiking trails with wonderful views and impressions.
Each day's destination is catered for from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers an entertaining programme for young and old during this time. Look forward to exciting entertainment, delicious food and a relaxed time for the whole family.
For those who prefer to hike in a group and want to learn more about the hiking trails of the Ahr Valley, guided hikes are offered daily from the respective day's destination.
Those who reach all four destinations in four days have the chance to take part in the summit festival competition competition. There are great prizes up for grabs!
Our tip for kids: Young hiking fans should get the Gipfelfest stamp card and collect the summit stamps at all the day's destinations. If you have a full stamp card, you can pick up your Gipfelfest certificate at the last destination of the day as a reward.
Participation in the event and the guided hikes are free of charge.
By bus & train to the hike
Travel comfortably to the hiking tours by public transport. You can reach the day's destinations and route entrances in the upper Ahr Valley with the hiking bus line 899. You can also travel to Ahrweiler and Sinzig by train. We have compiled all the information about public transport in the Ahr Valley here.
