Our holiday apartment "RebenFreund" is located in the picturesque Ahr Valley, one of the most renowned wine-growing regions in Germany. The region, known as the "Valley of Red Grapes," enchants with its idyllic vineyards, vines growing on slate soils, rugged cliffs, charming wine villages, and numerous hiking and cycling trails. A highlight is the Ahrsteig, a premium hiking trail that winds through the beautiful landscape and offers spectacular views of the valley. The accommodation itself is located right next to the Ahr, at the foot of the imposing building of the Ursuline monastery Calvarienberg and the well-known Roman villa, surrounded by picturesque vineyards at the end of a cul-de-sac. From our accommodation, a supermarket, bakery, public transport (bus & train), and sports facilities are within a few minutes' walk. In the nearby center of Ahrweiler, you will find the romantic old town with its medieval charm, where you can immerse yourself in the history of the region while strolling through narrow alleys and along the historic city wall. A visit to the Ahrweiler City Museum, the Ahrweiler Town Hall, or the Roman villa is also worthwhile for culture enthusiasts. The surroundings also offer numerous opportunities to enjoy the culinary delights of the region. Visit a traditional winery and be enchanted by the excellent wines of the Ahr during a wine tasting. For gastronomy lovers, there are also many excellent restaurants and inns in the area that indulge you with regional specialties and a cozy atmosphere. For all history lovers, a trip to the Documentation Center Government Bunker is worthwhile – a fascinating insight into the time of the Cold War. Also, the Rhine, Eifel, and Nürburgring are not far away. Enjoy the tranquility and beauty of this unique region and let the hospitality of the locals surprise you!
