Bad Bodendorf, the largest district of Sinzig, is located at the entrance to the Ahr valley and combines historic buildings with natural experiences. The historic town centre impresses with its well-preserved half-timbered buildings, many of which are several centuries old. The main street has been a designated monument zone since 1989.
The village was independent until it was incorporated into Sinzig in 1969. In 1972, the town was given the official title of "Bad", which was revoked in 2013. Nevertheless, the addition is still used in the name.
Bad Bodendorf is a popular starting point for hiking enthusiasts: the red wine hiking trail starts here, and the AhrSteig and Rheinburgenweg trails also run through the region.

An important cultural and historical building is Bodendorf Castle, a former moated castle from the 13th century. It originally served to protect the Aachen-Frankfurt military road. Over the centuries, the castle was destroyed and rebuilt several times. Today it is privately owned, the inner courtyard is designed with cobblestones and is characterised by an old lime tree.
