Your winery in Dernau

The winery cultivates parcels in ten VDP-classified "Große Lage" vineyards - the best steep and steeply sloping sites in the Ahr Valley. The vineyards are characterised by soils of loess, greywacke, loam and a high proportion of Devonian slate. This diverse terroir forms the basis for characterful wines with a precise profile.</p

<p>The highest value is placed on quality right from the vineyard: In the top vineyards, work begins with pruning, followed by targeted partial defoliation and thinning out of the grapes during the summer months. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and selectively.
