Wine hike to the Krausberg

Your Wine Walk experience begins in the Vinothek with a sparkling wine reception. Enjoy three high-quality wines as you walk together to the landmark of Dernau - the Krausberg. The route is around 2.7 km long, climbs 232 metres in altitude and leads through the impressive wine landscape with magnificent views.

The Krausberg is the landmark of the wine village of Dernau and the Eifelverein. The striking Krausberg tower catches the eye from afar. The stone observation tower rises high above the village. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a magnificent panorama. In good weather, the views extend as far as Cologne and Bonn, and on a clear day you can even see Cologne Cathedral. However, the most beautiful thing is the view of what literally lies at your feet - the vineyards and the Ahr valley.

The observation tower was inaugurated in March 1927, followed a year later by the first shelter, both built by the association itself.

On arrival at the Krausberg, you have a selection of dishes to choose from. On 2 May there will also be hearty barbecue specialities. After that, the official programme ends. You are welcome to extend your stay individually and enjoy a glass or two of wine or coffee & cake with a fantastic view - the beautiful wine view is of course included.
