Your journey to the Ahr valley

The best way to get to us

The Ahr Valley is located not far from the cities of Cologne, Bonn and Koblenz in a side valley of the Middle Rhine. From Sinzig or Remagen, the Ahr Valley runs westwards into the Eifel and ends in Blankenheim in North Rhine-Westphalia. No matter which direction you come from, the Ahr Valley is easy to reach - by car or public transport.

Travelling by train

Die Ahrtalbahn am Fuße der Saffenburg

Trains on the RB 30 line (Bonn - Remagen - Ahrbrück) run every hour on the section between Bonn main station and Walporzheim . The RB 39 line (Remagen - Dernau) also runs every hour between Remagen and Walporzheim. This means you can reach the Ahr Valley by train twice an hour from the Rhine. Please note that the Ahr valley railway is currently being rebuilt. Therefore, there are currently no trains to Dernau or Ahrbrück. All trains terminate at Walporzheim station. The rest of the route will be covered by rail replacement services. You can find the current timetable for the Ahrtalbahn here:

The best way to reach Blankenheim and the Upper Ahr is via the A1 motorway from Cologne/Aachen or via the B51 from Prüm in the Eifel.
