Ahrtal-Tourismus Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler e.V. is responsible for marketing the region to tourists. This includes guided tours, group tours, day programmes, events, the operation of tourist information offices as well as tourism and town marketing. As a subsidiary of Ahrtal Marketing GmbH, Ahrtal-Tourismus trains apprentices in various business areas.

 

Your training at Ahrtal-Tourismus

We offer training as an event management assistant, tourism & leisure management assistant and marketing communications management assistant.

During the apprenticeship, you will work in the sales, tourist information, event management and marketing departments in various stages. The departments are rotated every 2-6 months. Depending on the season, you will also have the opportunity to gain an insight into the health management, accounting, wine management and human resources departments. This will give you a good overview of the different areas of responsibility.

After each assignment, we will give you specific feedback - and you will also have the opportunity to share your impressions with us. We will discuss your experiences together in order to recognise where your talents particularly come into their own.

Event management assistant

During your training as an event manager, you will gain an insight into the planning and organisation of events and ensure that they run smoothly.

The apprenticeship lasts 3 years. Vocational school lessons take place at the BBSW Koblenz. You can find more information about the vocational school here.

Your day-to-day training could look like this:

  • Requesting quotations for various trades
  • Assisting with set-up and dismantling
  • Compiling advertising materials
  • Researching new event ideas
  • Planning, realising and implementing internal events
  • Supporting our events Klangwelle, AhrWeinWalk, Concerts in the Park, WineLounge in the Park and many more!

Tourism & Leisure Management Assistant

During your training as a tourism and leisure management assistant, you will gain an insight into all areas of tourism management.

The apprenticeship lasts 3 years. Vocational school lessons take place at the Alfred Müller Armack Vocational College in Cologne. You can find more information about the vocational school here.

This is what your day-to-day training with us could look like:

  • Advising guests in the tourist information centre
  • Organising group offers and guided tours
  • Advising and booking package deals
  • Assisting with the creation of website entries
  • Representing Ahrtal tourism at trade fairs

Marketing communications specialist

During your training as a marketing communications specialist, you will gain an insight into all relevant areas of marketing for the tourist destination Ahrtal in conjunction with the town of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.

The apprenticeship lasts 3 years. Vocational school lessons take place at the BBSW Koblenz. You can find more information about the vocational school here.

Your day-to-day training could look like this:

  • Creating offer comparisons for advertising materials
  • Analysing social media campaigns
  • Writing texts for print and online media
  • Assisting with the planning of event marketing
