Hotel Hohenzollern

Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler

Haus Hohenzollern, which our guests know and love as a traditional hotel on the Ahr, can now look back on a history of more than a century. We use this wealth of experience to make your holiday in the Ahr Valley even more relaxing and enjoyable.

Living tradition - over 100 years of experience in the hotel industry

In April 1905, today's Restaurant and Hotel Hohenzollern was opened by the confectioner Hermann Schmitz as Café Hoch über dem Ahrtal. The traditional hotel on the Ahr was named in honour of the imperial family. The Hohenzollern soon gained a reputation as a place where you come as a guest and leave as a friend.

This personal style of hospitality and gastronomy was continued when the Restaurant and Hotel Hohenzollern was handed over to the Volkermann family in March 1974. Since then, the history and tradition of the hotel have been lovingly preserved in their hands and interwoven with the modern, innovative spirit of a younger generation. In 2007, the next generation of the family, Ester Glöde-Volkermann, took over the business.

We are very pleased that the family atmosphere and warmth of our traditional hotel on the Ahr continues to resonate more than 100 years after it was founded.

The Volkermann family - two generations of family hospitality At the age of three, her father took Ester Glöde-Volkermann by the hand and climbed the mountain to Hohenzollern with her for the first time to show her the family's new home. Just as Haus Hohenzollern grew over the years, our current owner grew up with it and the people who lived, worked and holidayed there. The passion and love that connects us all with Hohenzollern - whether as a small guesthouse or as a restaurant and hotel - has characterised her.

Since Ester Glöde-Volkermann took over the business from her parents, she has been grateful to have the opportunity to continue shaping the history of the Hohenzollern restaurant and hotel with many guests and our team. A team that sticks together like a family Our team is made up of many personalities who complement and support each other. Then as now, the endeavour of our team and the Volkermann family is to give our guests some unforgettable moments of well-being. So that they can leave the stress and worries of everyday life behind them for a while and take many happy memories home with them.
