Wine festival over Whitsun on the Ahrweiler marketplace
Every year on Whitsun weekend (22 to 25 May 2026 ) from Friday to Monday, sparkling wines and wines from the wineries and winegrowers' cooperatives of the Ahr take centre stage on the marketplace in Ahrweiler. The wine market, also known as the Whitsun wine market, has been a fixture on the Ahr for years. The wine event impresses with its special flair, good music and entertainment in an extraordinary atmosphere. The special highlight of the wine market takes place every year on Friday evening: The crowning of the new Ahr Wine Majesty, who is chosen a few hours beforehand by an expert jury.
Food and drink are well catered for on the market square. The local gastronomy also invites you to enjoy culinary delights and looks forward to your visit. Glasses are available at the glass stand and at the wine stands for 5 euros per glass.

This is how it works:
You can choose a sample wine (0.05 litre) from three wines at each of the wine stands. The vouchers can be redeemed daily until 7 pm at the winegrowers. The ticket (provided as a PDF file after purchase) must be redeemed at the glass stand on the Ahrweiler marketplace in exchange for the wine. The ticket price already includes the tasting wines, an Ahr Valley wine glass and a ticket for the Rhine-Moselle public transport network (VRM).
