Small, family-run organic winery in Dernau

The small, organic family winery is located in the centre of Dernau, at the foot of the Pfarrwingert, where Julia and Benedikt Baltes are now the 5th generation to live and work together. Based on the principle of permaculture and in harmony with the natural conditions in the vineyard, they produce authentic, long-lasting Pinot Noirs with a strong character from the best sites in the Ahr Valley. The soil, the weather, the work in the vineyard and the history of a year are reflected later in the glass. This is why Julia and Benedikt, together with their team, focus on manual labour on the steep slopes and the preservation of the old vines.
