Roman bath

Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler

Fascinating Roman archaeological site in Ahrweiler

In addition to the Museum Roemervilla, there is another fascinating Roman archaeological site to explore in the town of Ahrweiler: the "Römerbad am Weiherberg". This Roman bath, which is located behind the district administration in Ahrweiler, opens its doors every fortnight on Sundays in even calendar weeks from Easter to October.

The bath was discovered over a hundred years ago on the otherwise destroyed site of a Roman estate. It was extensively restored in the 1980s and is now located in a shelter under the B 267 bypass. The newly designed exhibition area not only gives visitors an insight into ancient bathing culture, but also into the history of the Roman Ahr valley.

To reach the Roman baths, simply follow these instructions: Start from the district administration, cross the bridge at Elligstrasse and then turn right into the street "Am Weiherberg".
