Winzergenossenschaft Mayschoß Altenahr
What began in 1868 with a manageable 18 people has long become a success story of the Ahr Valley. Today, we are a community of 432 members from Mayschoss, Altenahr, and Walporzheim, who collectively cultivate about 150 hectares of vineyards. "Joy in Wine" has been our philosophy for 150 years, where we combine tradition with innovation, and for which our winemakers have been committed, then as now. The red grapes and the unique Mediterranean microclimate, which creates an unmistakable flavor profile, shape our vineyards. The most important grape variety is the Pinot Noir, but early Pinot, Portuguese, and Domina also produce excellent wines for us. Among the white grape varieties, Riesling dominates. For several years now, a special specialty has been the Blanc de Noir, which we produce from the Pinot Noir grape and process like a white wine. Being a cooperative with a "we-feeling" allows us to work together on all the strengths that our vineyards offer. We look forward to your visit!
