Catholic church in Bad Neuenahr

The Catholic church of Bad Neuenahr, the Rosenkranzkirche, is located near the new town hall. With its 65 metre high bell tower and the many small towers and roofs, it towers over the town of Bad Neuenahr and can be seen from afar. The Catholic community began building the church in 1898.

The spa town of Neuenahr developed very successfully from the 1850s onwards. In order to enable social life to continue, corresponding building projects with appropriate architectural design became necessary. The Catholics were convinced that the 1,000-year-old Willibrordus Church above the spa district no longer met these increased demands. They therefore had the Rosenkranzkirche built in the centre by architect August Menken.
