The pavilion on the Katzley catches the eye from afar. Like an eagle's nest, it sits enthroned on the steep rock high above the Ahr near Walporzheim. The best view of the Katzley is from the Bunte Kuh directly opposite. From the hiking pavilion on the Katzley, there is a fantastic 180-degree panorama over the Walporzheim vineyards, the narrow Ahr valley and the district town of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. The Bunte Kuh and the "Försters Weinterrassen" winery and restaurant in the middle of the vineyards greet you from the other side. 

From the hiking car park at the stone bridge directly below the Katzley, a steep, challenging mountain path leads up to the top of the rock in around 20 minutes. Caution is advised here in wet conditions.
