The museum in Beethoven's birthplace in Bonn is one of the world's most visited music museums and is one of the top 100 sights for tourists to Germany. Since its redesign in 2019, the permanent exhibition has offered an in-depth insight into Beethoven's life, work and surroundings. Topics such as his circle of friends, everyday life, illness and masterpieces make the composer tangible as a person. Highlights include original manuscripts in the treasure chamber, live concerts on historical instruments and changing exhibitions. The modern chamber music hall offers a top-class concert programme with international artists.
