Entdecker-Tour Blankenheim: Auf den Spuren von Ahr und Eifel

The circular tour leads through the Upper Ahr Valley.

The circular tour leads through the Upper Ahr Valley and over Eifel heights with unique views. Follow the course of the River Ahr and discover wide (Eifel) fields and forests.

This circular tour starts at the source of the River Ahr in Blankenheim. In the middle of the historic town centre, the Ahr has its source in the vaulted cellar of a half-timbered house. The route then leads through the Upper Ahr Valley. Here, where the Ahr slowly picks up speed and grows steadily, it is wonderful to cycle along the Ahr cycle path and the disused railway line.

After Ahrhütte, you change to the Eifel-Höhen-Route. As the name suggests, you now explore the varied landscape of the Eifel with its hills and far-reaching views.

The route continues to the Freilinger See lake. The outdoor area can be used for a short break or to cool off in the lake.

The tranquil village of Mülheim, which is characterised by its numerous half-timbered houses, is also on this route.

Highlights along the way:

- Ahrquelle

- Historic town centre & Eifelmuseum Blankenheim

- Schlossweiher Blankenheim

- Schmetterlingsgarten "Eifalia" in Ahrhütte

- Freilinger See

- Römervilla "Villa rustica" Blankenheim
