Counting sheep in the vineyard - only Julia and Benedikt Baltes can do that. The winegrowing couple have dedicated themselves to the question of how wine tastes when you intervene as little as possible in the natural cycle of the vineyard. Julia Bertram vividly explains how permaculture works and what role animal "field workers" play in it.

After a long break of five years due to the challenges of Corona and the devastating flood, we are delighted to finally resume the Ahrwein discussion group in 2025! The Ahr Valley wine region has been through a lot in recent years, but now we are ready to start again with fresh courage and new ideas. In six exciting presentations, we would like to introduce wine enthusiasts to the Ahr Valley, its winegrowers and the many topics related to wine. We will highlight current topics and developments that characterise wine production and wine culture in our region. We look forward to exchanging ideas with you, sharing experiences and gaining new knowledge. This revitalisation of the discussion group not only offers the opportunity to meet up with old acquaintances, but also to get to know new faces who share a passion for Ahr wine. Let's celebrate the diversity and fascination of our wine together and take the next steps towards a hopeful
