Between Baroque and Classical - Works from the time of Johann Sebastian Bach
The CONCERT ROYAL Cologne ensemble presents a special programme with works for wind instrument and obbligato organ - a musical genre that originated in the Principality of Saxony and Thuringia in the 18th century.
Under the direction of the experienced oboist and harpsichordist Karla Schröter and the renowned organist Willi Kronenberg, the ensemble impresses with historical instruments, a detailed programme and the rediscovery of rare masterpieces. The repertoire includes compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Elias Bronnemüller, Gottfried August Homilius, Johann Wilhelm Hertel, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and other important composers of the era. The fine balance between the oboe's sung chorale and the richly ornamented accompaniment of the chest organ brings the baroque musical tradition to life with virtuosity and great expressiveness.
CONCERT ROYAL Köln is a regular guest at renowned festivals and concert series in Germany and Europe and has received several ECHO Klassik awards for its recordings.
You can look forward to an evening full of elegance, passion and jewels of sound from the time of Johann Sebastian Bach and his circle.
